The Farm
Trillium Dorpers is located near the quaint little village of Ashton, just 30 minutes from downtown
Ottawa and 10 minutes from the town of Carleton Place. The area features highly-fertile farmland
in the lowlands of the Ottawa Valley and is home to an array of wildlife, numerous farms and the
outer reaches of Ottawa’s suburbs.
Our new 100-acre farm features century-old log barns, a new cover-all, and modern energyefficient
home. The land is gently rolling pasture, dotted here and there by ancient cedars and
old stone fences, as well as a creek and small pond, and all the fauna and flora that come with
such a diverse micro-ecosystem.
Many new projects are in the works over the coming years, such as new fencing and paddocks,
barn repairs, new gardens and orchards, as well as a special feature for our website, a glossary
of all the wildlife found on our property. We’d also like to begin documenting many of the steps
we’re taking to reduce our footprint on the environment in our new Environment section.
